OPHTHALMIC NURSING TRAINING PROGRAMOPTOMETRY TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM
Be a holder of a Diploma in General Nursing, Registered Nurse who is registered with the Liberian Board for Nursing and MidwiferyHigher education & professional body Diploma and Transcript
Have at least 2 years post qualification experience as a registered nurseHave at least 2 years post qualification experience in your field of study

OPHTHALMIC NURSING TRAINING PROGRAMOPTOMETRY TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM
Academic session comprises of two (2) semestersAcademic session comprises of two semesters (2)
First semester – November to MarchFirst semester – November to March

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN OPHTHALMIC NURSING (ADON)Advanced Diploma IN OPTOMETRY TECHNICIAN
´  The program will extend over 1 academic year. It compresses of general courses and courses related specifically to Ophthalmic Nursing and Healthcare delivery with 3 months internship.´  The program will extend over 1 academic year. It compresses of general courses and courses related specifically to Optometry and 6 months internship.
´  First Semester 16weeks (12weeks of teaching and 4 weeks of clinical work)First Semester 16weeks (14weeks of teaching and 2 weeks of clinical work)
´  Second semester 16 weeks ( 3weeks of teaching and 12weeks of clinical work)´  Second semester 16 weeks ( 3weeks of teaching and 12weeks of clinical work)

THIRD SEMESTER

    • Students are requested to register in person under guidance and supervision of program authorities.
    • A student who does not register within 7 days from commencement of training will be requested to pay a fine to be determined by the college.
    • A student who fails to register within the first 14 days from commencement of training shall forfeit his/her right to register for the semester.
    • Registration and orientation dates will be in the academic calendar
    • The duration of the program is 3 semesters and this period is calculated from the date of first registration

     

    REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE REGISTRATION

    1. Six (4) recent passport photographs (in prescribed uniform)

    3. Testimonial from last place of work
    4. Release to school letter
    5. Dictionary (English & Nurses)
    6. Note and Exercise Books

    Dress Code

    • Male nurses –    White  trousers, white shirt and white black  full shoe
    • Female nurses         – white with white shoe (rubber sole)
